Last night, Mom got to meet a new friend. Her name is Raku, and she is a kitty who was found wandering behind the pottery studio. After a few weeks of being given food by one of the resident potters, Raku allowed herself to be brought inside and to be pet! She was put inside one of the guest rooms. There, she managed to tear open the screen window and get out. Still, she came back in later the next morning. I guess she figured it was a good place to be, or she got hungry.
Yesterday, she went to the V-E-T. It took two grown men to put her in a canvas cat carrier. However, they didn't zip up the carrier all the way and smart girl Raku unzipped the bag and got out... tee hee
She weighed in at 6 lbs and received an excellent bill of health from the vet.
Raku is very friendly, but tends to hide when alone in the room. She came out when Mom came into the room and allowed herself to be pet. Raku was also very curious about the small box thing Mom kept trying to take pictures with. This was the only shot where Raku wasn't totally blurry haha
And so, welcome to our new friend, Raku! We shall see how she gets along with the other studio cat, Shadow...

Chani has something to say...
Ummm, Chani, my dear, my precious, my sweet... I really need to hang up my jeans.
That is all...
No. You may not have them.
They are fresh from the dryer and therefore, mine.
MINE!
That is all...

Uh-oh... it's that time of year again
When Mom pulls out the costumes. Le Sigh. I wish the boys would "get" to wear costumes too...
This year, my dress has been lying next to our bed. Mom's excuse was that she didn't want to lose the dress again. I think she was just being lazy.
And so, I suffer on. I pose prettily. And just can't wait to see if the boys get dressed up too.
(Just so everyone knows, Chani was purring the entire photoshoot. She did hop off the bed a few times and hunker down. But she stayed when I put her back on the bed and took a few snaps)
Oh dear, Mom wants to take a photo of me in this dress. If some of you remember, Mom "lost" this dress and then found it again.

Kitten Fix!
No, nothing is wrong with the kitten. Mom just got to cuddle with her.
This is Margaret. She's a little love bug at the wood kiln. Mom approached her, picked her up for some snuggles that Margaret did not appreciate. However, as soon as Mom sat down, Margaret claimed the lap. And stayed there for quite some time.
She looks quite relaxed, doesn't she?

Mom is cheating on us! And taking bad photos...
Mom is taking care of Kazi and Buddy while their parents are away. She's been using her phone to take photos and therefore, bad quality photos abound!
She made sure to snuggle Kazi. Despite his wide eyed look, he was somewhat enjoying the snuggle. Actually, he just wants attention, not snuggles. Still, he tolerates it. We think he misses his mommy and daddy a lot.
This is his sister, Buddy. She used to belong to a friend who passed away. Kazi's parents took her in not too long after they lost one of their furkids who was also a long haired tortie.
Here's another view of Kazi's "dreamy" blue eyes. Mom just loves this handsome boy and totally cheats with him on us (and on Q who came before!). Fortunately, we are happy to share Mom.
Although, you might not be able to tell that from this next photo...
