9 has such lovely black toesies. So striking against his pure white fur.

It's been a long time, but here are some adorable toesies for your perusal.

9's cute little pink toe!

9's new favorite place to sleep before I go to bed. The lamp gives off a lot of heat.

Chani's strawberry ice cream toes

She also likes sleeping under the lamp. Belly up!

So kissable!

Yes, that is 9 in the back making sure that Chani's face is clean.

of Toesies and Tidings

Mom just loves my toes. Can you blame her? I work the kyoot by dangling my toes through the bottom of the top tier of the tower. hehe.

This past weekend, Mom seemed quite annoyed about the condo situation. It has been about 5 months since she put in the offer on a nice 3 bedroom 2 bath condo and the seller chose to go with her offer. But, Mom knew she had to be patient because it was a short sale. Still, things seemed a bit funky with the selling realtor constantly saying, "Just give it a few more days" which then turned into weeks and months. So, this past weekend, Mom's realtor found out that the property was in foreclosure and the selling realtor didn't tell us anything! Grrr... Yesterday, the selling realtor finally said that the bank had rejected Mom's offer and sent a cancellation contract (which was dated December 4, last Friday... more grrrrr...)

However, there was another opening in the same complex for a 2 bedroom 2 bath place. It is smaller, but cheaper and more importantly NOT a short sale... Mom and Grandma went over and took a look. I think Grandma was more impressed with the place than Mom (but then, Mom had a run-in with a rather rude tenant just before going into the place over an empty assigned parking spot... it was Mom's fault as she did park there, but she did start off with an apology whereas the tenant started off with: "Are you in my parking spot? Get out!" in a gruff tone). At any rate, Mom decided to make an offer on it (despite mean neighbors, well, maybe the lady had rough morning and just took it out on Mom) and...

Yay! Her offer was accepted!!! So, today, Mom will be signing a bunch of papers and hopefully, everything will go smoothly and she can buy this condo and move in the beginning of January!

We're very happy! Uh-oh, I think Mom wants to take pictures of me and Chani for Christmas... Oh dear...

Toesday and more

Since we've moved back to my parents' house, there's been a little bit of an adjustment to where everything goes. When I moved out, my old bedroom became my mom's computer room and my closet became my dad's. I'm not complaining at all (except for the fact that it's taking forever for my condo purchase to go through. Darn short sales!). At any rate, my computer set up is now in the dining room. Being Japanese, my mom wanted a Japanese style dining room, so the table is low to the ground, and guests sit on the floor (we do have these sort of chairs with backs so it's not completely traditional). One day, when I clean up the area a bit, I'll take a photo to show you.

At any rate, 9 decided to show off his toesies and sleep in my lap. His head is under the table cloth and I'm sitting cross legged... that's why I gave the explanation above. I love his little toesies!

This past weekend, a few friends and I went to the Renaissance Faire. It's a fun place for people to dress up in costume (mostly not historically accurate), eat a lot of food, speak with really bad English accents (my apologies), drink cider or mead or beer, and watch the acts. One act was a joust (TO THE DEATH!... well, the knights fell down and were apparently sliced open by their opponent's swords and then carried off the field by their squires). After the act, the knights ride their horses to the fences so that the public can ask questions or mainly, pet the horses. They have such velvety smooth noses! I took photos of the horses' eyes because the fencing prevented full on head shots.

This was my favorite photo. You can almost see my reflection there.

This guy did not want to stand still or get a photo of his right eye taken. So, I had to settle for this between the fence shot.

And now, I leave you with Chani. It's been getting colder, so I think I'm going to have to find her a blanket to transform her tower into a new fort. Hooray! This means I get to go to the fabric store and look for some polar fleece for her.

Toesies and more snuggling

It is Toesday after all, so I just had to post this pic of Chani's jelly bean toes. I love her toesies.

This photos is from the previous set where 9 was cleaning Chani and then lay on top of her. They were both so cute, I just had to post it.

Toesies Tuesday and fur friends of Big Sur

Well, what do we have here? Spotted toesies on an orange kitty? Who could this be?

It's Gary! Gary is a furfriend who lives in Big Sur with Mak and Pam (Yes, I spent the 4th of July with Mak, Pam, Mikey Awesome and another couple... we are all friends via World of Warcraft).

Gary is a big boy. His girth expanded when Mak and Pam adopted two rescue kitties (see below) and he just loved the kitten food. One of his nicknames is:  GarBear... I spent much of the weekend picking up Gary and just hugging him.  He wasn't too keen on that, but he put up with me.
Next up is The Princess.  She is so pretty.  Her head is rather tiny compared to her floofy and yet solid body.  I love the Princess. Though, I'm not sure she loves me all that much.
This is Moxie Crime Fighter.  Moxie is one of the two rescue kitties that Mak and Pam adopted last year (Come to think of it, Gary and Princess were rescues as well). Mak and Pam swear that Moxie has no soul and only exists to steal your soul.  I was able to pick her up once but Pam said that I confused Moxie. Apparently, they only pick up Moxie when she's done something wrong... Corporal cuddling as a punishment.  Ah well, I had fun. At least she didn't bite my toes under the covers as she used to do to other guests.
Finally, this is Tsunami, the force of Nature. Tsunami was a very shy kitten and no one wanted to adopt her. Of course, Pam saw that and just had to bring her home (the adoption group gave Tsu to Pam for free they were so sure that Tsu would not be adopted... can you blame Tsunami for being shy? I mean, here she is at a pet store, in unfamiliar grounds and being handled or stared at by a bunch of strangers! However, she was quite playful when she was in her cage, so Pam knew that Tsu wasn't as shy as everyone thought). Tsunami loves to taunt cat lovers who want to pet her and love on her. She will act like she wants you to pet her, rubbing against furniture, arching her back. However, as soon as you go to pet her... she takes off.  Ah well... The only time I was able to pet her was when she was lounging in her tower. Even that was almost too much for her. Needless to say, I was not able to pick up Tsu at all.
I had a very nice 4th of July. I hope you all did too!

Toesday and an award!

It's Toesday and what better way to enjoy that but to post some lovely toesies pictures. First up is Chani and her jellybean pink toes.

Next up is 9 with his little black toesies and one pink toe. So darn cute!

Finally, Siena and Chilli kindly granted us this award.  We are very happy to accept it though, I'm not sure about following all the rules!
Here are the rules:
"When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real. Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have 7 friends. Show the 7 random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Weblog.” Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on! "

So, here are 10 honest things about 9 and Chani

1. Although 9 is the older and bigger kitten AND he tries to be the more dominant cat, he is actually kind of a scaredy cat.  Chani is much braver when faced with unfamiliar sounds and objects.
2. 9 is very flopsy whenever he is picked up.  He just relaxes in my arms (or Chris') when we pick him up (which is very often!)
3. Chani loves going under covers.  She loves her fort/tower as well as her flaming blankie fort on the couch.
4. Chani loves to sleep in my armpit or by my neck... always on the right side, never on the left.
5. Although neither kitten can open a swinging door yet, 9 through sheer determination has opened up the sliding door of my closet... new play area for 9 and Chani!
6. Early on, one of the kittens or both, flipped over the butter dish cover and ate butter.  We're not sure which one!
7. 9 loves to watch my computer monitor and bat at the cursor or any text that is being written in a blog window or IM window and such.  Chani's not as interested in the monitor these days.
8. 9 is fascinated by the opening and closing of the DVD tray on the DVD player.
9. Chani loves to run in straight lines after the laser pointer dot.  9 runs in circles following the Evil Feather Toy II.
10. At dinner time, 9 always stand on the right, Chani on the left. 9 gets a bit confused if he's on the left..

And there you go!  I have to think now about who to pass the award along to!
Enjoy!
