No, nothing is wrong with the kitten. Mom just got to cuddle with her.
This is Margaret. She's a little love bug at the wood kiln. Mom approached her, picked her up for some snuggles that Margaret did not appreciate. However, as soon as Mom sat down, Margaret claimed the lap. And stayed there for quite some time.
She looks quite relaxed, doesn't she?

New Friend: Leila Rose Bean!
The other day, Mom indulged in her not-so secret pleasure. Taking photos of animals! Well, this time, she got to take photos of a 12 week old English Bull Dog named Leila Rose Bean.
You see, her friends recently brought this pup into their home and Mom just had to take photos. In fact, if Mom could make a living off of taking photos of pets, she would totally do it.
Here is Leila Rose looking coy. It was really hot out, so she retreated to the shade as much as possible. Smart pup!
Mom arrived at around 11 am and Leila was pooped from playing hard all morning. She was napping for a bit in her new pink bed.
Later she let out a big yawn while getting her beauty shots taken outside.
She really is quite adorable (for a dog, that is...)
Thank you for letting us indulge in sharing Mom's photos! OH! and apparently, yesterday's post was our 500th post! Mom had no clue until she checked out this post. Silly Mom! So, yay for us for having 500 posts! Here's to the next 500!

New Friend, Ravenpaw
A week ago Friday, Mom came home smelling like a new kitty. We made sure to inspect her bag and her clothing thoroughly! Then, we made her tell us about our new kitty friend, Ravenpaw.
Do you remember Spaz? Well, Spaz's family decided it was time for them to adopt a new kitty. The oldest daughter, Miss A, worked very hard so that she could earn this privilege. Miss A was determined to adopt a kitten, not buy one. And she was determined to adopt a black kitten because she knew how hard it is for black kitties to get adopted. After months of searching, she finally found Ravenpaw at the local Humane Society.
"Sergeant", as Ravenpaw was known, was adopted by a family with his sister named, "Semper". However, something must have happened and their family had to surrender the two kittens to the Humane Society. Miss A had fallen in love with Semper, but by the time they got to the Humane Society, Semper had been adopted.
But, Sergeant was available and so, they adopted him and renamed him, "Ravenpaw".
Mom got to meet Ravenpaw, who is now about 8 months old, and she says he was soft and sweet and quite the climber. He would leap up and climb across the window shades. And since there are 4 children in the house, 2 who are under 7 years of age, it's a good thing Ravenpaw can climb out of their reaches!
Now, it is Miss A's duty to clean his litter box and make sure to feed and water him. So far, she is doing very well.
And so, now we know Mom has another kitty friend to take photos of. And since he is all black, it will be quite the challenge to make sure you can see all his handsome features!

New Friend, Buddy the Corgi!
Hi Everyone,
Thank you for your kind words the other day. We were able to get Mom out of her funk and she is doing much better. So much so, that she went out and took photos of a DOG!
Shocking, we know. But, we let her do this on occasion because we know that one day Mom would like to be a pet photographer and she needs to practice a lot.
So, let us present to you, Buddy the Corgi. Now we may have mentioned or Mom has mentioned that she just loves Welsh Corgis. Especially Pembroke Welsh corgis. We have no idea why, but she just does. Fortunately, one of her pottery friends is owned by this cute guy.
I guess he is cute for a dog.
He did pose rather well too.
Mom hopes to use these photos a reference for when she starts painting and drawing Corgis.
OH! And she started to do more work on 9's Om kitty painting. We think this one will be pretty darn cute. She just needs a few more hours a day so she can do more painting! Oh, and we heard her thinking aloud about taking a week off of work and just painting. Now, that would be fun for us and for her!

A Becky update, a New Friend and Synchronized stretching
Becky is getting to be such a big girl! She is smart and sweet and well, just not a puppy any more. She's quite the teenager now.
This is Tocho which means "tiger" (I can't remember which language). I helped rescue this kitty many years ago when she was about 2 months old. She was separated from her momma way too early and there was some evidence that she was abused (whiskers were burnt) by her original "owners" who were homeless people and from what I have heard more than a little cracked out. She was 'rescued' by another homeless person who was slightly less cracked out at the time and who gave her to a friend of mine. My friend could not keep another kitty so when I found out, I called another friend, Mr. J who had just lost his family cat. He accepted Tocho provisionally, saying that his wife had to approve of all this. However, as soon as I presented Tocho to him, he took her from me and I never got to hold her for the rest of the visit. Tocho was his. She sat on him and purred and basically claimed him.
Mr. J's wife, Ms. L, named the kitten, Tocho, in order to somewhat balance the horrible start in life that she had. You know, give the kitty a strong, fierce, powerful name and she will become strong and fierce and powerful.
Well, it sort of worked. Tocho is usually pretty sweet to Mr. J, though she is scared when they have too many people visiting and will hide under the bed covers (where I took these photos). And, every now and then, she gets the crazy look in her eye and all hands and other exposed body parts have to be hidden from Tocho's teeth and claws. I hope Ms. L forgives me one day for this. I think she has as I do still get invited to parties and she talks to me hehe.
At any rate, Tocho loves her daddy and although she barely tolerates anyone else, she does tolerate me as I did get to pet her. I like to think she remembers me in a tiny part of her mind/heart.
Finally, a photo of 9 and Chani as they woke up from their nap upon Mr. Crab. It was almost dinner time and they needed to fully rest up before eating. Right?

Halloween Dress Revisited and New Friends!
I was going through the photos on my camera and came across these of Chani. Not to brag or anything, but she is really a pretty girl.
I usually consider 9 my soulful cat, but my Chan-Chan girl really has something soulful in her expression in these photos. Something winsome too. Sigh...
I've been busy again (yes, big surprise). But, I did take some time to go the wood kiln a few weeks back. One of the friends there has a rescue dog named Wiley. He's pretty darn adorable. Spunky. Usually one ear is flopped over, but when he's alert, they both perk up.
Such a sweetie!
And there is a new 'baby'. Meet Becky, a great Pyranees.
Here she is at about 9 weeks.
What a doll! And my what huge paws!
Standing next to her mentor, Buddy.
When Becky is full grown, she will join her 'brother', David, and protect the goat herd. But for right now, she's just enjoying being a puppy.

New friends
Before Mom left on her trip, she met some new friends. Above is Buddy the corgi. As you might have heard, Mom simply loves corgis and this guy was totally sweet. A bit chubby, but his owners are working on that.
Mom also met sister Magic and Pearl. No, she cannot tell them apart. Their mommy can, but our Mom definitely cannot.
Not sure which sister this one is. They are pretty sweet too. One is more rambunctious than the other, but they did let Mom pick them up and cuddle with them, so they must not be too bad, right?

More new friends - Gazoo, PITA, Suki and Snowy
Mom went to visit a friend this past weekend and met 3 kitties and woofie. Above is Gazoo. Yes, he always looks paranoid apparently... Well, wouldn't you if you had to share your home with a big woofie like, Snowy (seen below)?
Still, Snowy is quite beautiful, don't you think? We're not sure we could handle living with a woofie, but Mom would love to have one heheh... pity she isn't home enough for a dog. Seriously, she's not home enough for us!
This is PITA (we'll let you guess what those letters stand for...) He was a feral rescue. Mom decided not to show off his whole body because, well... he's kind of big. Mom said something about a basketball on legs... He does have beautiful blue eyes though. Wow, just realized all of these new friends have beautiful blue eyes!
And finally, here is Suki. He's the sweetest of the bunch and feels very soft and clean. Pita and Suki stay upstairs away from Snowy. Only Gazoo is brave enough to be downstairs.

Fizzgig!
Mom visited Fizgig and his family again. He is sure growing up! Look at how mature his face is now.
Oberon is still getting used to Fizzy, but they do play...
A bit...
Check out those belly spots! Aren't they great? Yes, Mom snorgled them a lot. She just couldn't resist them.
Cutie pie, yes? Mom's still having fun playing with her f/1.4 lens.
And finally, here is Fizzy with his Precious. He loves this toy and carries it about with him everywhere.

New Friends: Oberon, Pica and Fizgig!
On Saturday, Mom visited her friend and met some new fur-friends!
This is Oberon. He's a Devon Rex and although he looks like an alien, he's quite the kitty. He surprised his mom by letting our mom pet him. Though he did run away and only demand attention when Mom was ignoring him.
Don't you just love this look of his. It's as if he is plotting to take over the world and we are his underlings!
Isn't he a doll? He loves to sleep belly up and boy does he like the air conditioner blasting in his face. Fizzy was all wiggly until his mommy put him in the direct path of the cool air. He then relaxed and started to zone out.
What a little love.

This is Pica, Oberon's doggy sister. She's a real sweetheart at 11 years of age. She gets some allergy medication with peanut butter every day.
Now, hold onto your hats to see an adorable Bengal kitten. Everyone, meet Fizgig!
