Chani: Why yes, I am Queen of all I survey. Pay homage to me now with lots of pets and cuddles, but do not dare to presume to take me off of my tower!
As promised, pics of the kittens!
Yes, he even fell asleep while cradled in my arm. Makes it difficult to type mind you, or get any work done. However, this did make me extremely happy.
And I couldn't post pics of only 9. Chani had to be in at least one of the shots. Here they are in that lovely flame blanket... sigh... I wish that they didn't like the blanket quite so much.
The view from Smack Mellon Studios where the wedding and reception were held. Totally gorgeous day!
Siena and Chilli asked to see a picture of me in that lovely bridesmaid dress. I really need to learn to stand up straight! At any rate, I wasn't a fan of the color, but on the whole, with the whole wedding party dressed up in this color, it looked pretty good. I just don't think it looks good individually. In the photo, from left to right are: Me, Dad, Tina (the bride) and Mom.
Cleaning Chani again. Doesn't she look soooo happy??? hehe
So, after a few days of incredible heat in the Bay Area, it's now chilly again. Sigh... silly weather. Won't be posting for the next few days because I'll be heading out of town for a dear friend's wedding. I get to be a bridesmaid (again... sigh) and wear a dress of a rather 'interesting' color. It's all good. It's all about the bride after all, right?
Chani, posing and showing me that she is the Queen of all she surveys..
I love 9. He's the sweetest kitty and just loves everyone. Major purr monkey. That being said, I have to say, he's not all that bright. Big and brawny, yes. Smart... well, there's a reason why his nickname is Brawndo (from the movie, Idiocracy). He hasn't figured out how to open a door that is slightly ajar. He kind of nudges it, bats at it and then mews for me to open it, which can be difficult from where I'm usually sitting... yes, I'm taking about the bathroom door. (yes, it has occurred to me that he is technically 'training' me when I open the door for him... but really, not too bright!)
Chani is my morning love bug. She loves to snuggle around my shoulder or under my chin or in the crook of my neck. Thankfully, she's still pretty small and can curl up in a tight enough ball to fit there. Since the weather here has turned grey, rainy and cold again, it's nice to have such a warm little purr monkey right next to me in the mornings.
Another shot of 9 in the black chair. He's still pretty small (inaccurately weighed in at about 6 lbs) but he's growing a lot. It's amazing how they suddenly have a growth spurt and you can really notice the size difference. I kind of wish I saw what 9 and Chani looked like when they were tiny (8 weeks old or so), but that won't happen. I don't think the rescue place has pictures of them at that age. At any rate, I'm enjoying them immensely.
Before Q passed, I got a window perch for Chris' window. I think I mentioned before that his room gets a lot of afternoon sun. At any rate, the perch never really 'stuck' (i.e. it kept falling off the window ledge, sometimes with Q on it), and as much as Q enjoyed being placed there, he didn't often go into Chris' room. He was usually asleep in my room under his blanket. So, the window perch was tossed aside.
