9 in a box

My blue eyed boy still loves boxes. I usually keep a few of the empty Amazon boxes around for him. It might be time to recycle this one and get him a fresh one hehe

9 in a box

Hi Everyone! I have a little story to tell you. There I was just sitting pretty in a box. Mom came up to take my photo and that Orange Interloper photo bombed me!

He even had the audacity to sniff the camera before walking by, not pausing long enough for a good focused photo...

I continued to sit in my box, slightly disgruntled.

And now, we are all slightly disgruntled as Mom pulled out her suitcase. No warning whatsoever!

She says she'll only be gone for a few days for Aunty B's 50th Birthday party and that Sheamus Popoki's foster mom will take care of us. But still!

She better give us a good amount of treats before she leaves AND when she returns!

Boys in Boxes

I bought some boxes to hold my greeting cards at the next sale. Of course, Box Boy, 9, had to check them out. In fact, all 3 cats checked them out and sat in them.

9: I say, this is a lovely box. It fits me quite purrrfectly, if you'll pardon the pun.

Sheamus: I like the bigger box. It's much easier to contain my floof in this one.

Chani didn't stay in a box long enough for me to get a photo. She did sit in the same one that 9 did. But she's not as much of a box lover as he is.

And here are two pencil drawings of kitties.
I needed to do some quick drawings to fill up some frames for my sale this weekend. I already drew the Yin/Yang Kitties and then decided to do a feline face. These are not going to be reproduced as cards, so they're one offs. Now, I'm wondering how much to charge for them. The frame cost $15. So that plus whatever I want for the drawing. Oh these details are too boring for the kitties, but they try to help by inspiring me to draw more.

Oh, and I thought about drawing a Medusa for the last frame, but then decided a purple cat would be better. THEN, I thought: Cheshire cat! And there you go, the sketch. I will post the finished one when I'm done.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Sunday, Sunday...

Mom thinks I look particularly handsome here. I like to give her a closed eye grin on occasion.

And here I am in a box. I love boxes. Mom is keeping a few around the house just for me. There's a nice big one by the door that she really needs to empty for me. I think I shall remind her to do so shortly.

Oh, here I am with Chani sitting on an afgan that Grandma made for Mom. We love it so much! We've even worn holes in it. Sheamus Popoki loves to make biscuits on it.  And speaking of the Orange Fluff Ball...

He's just sacked out...

Marlene is injured

Greetings furiends! 9 here with an update. On the one paw, we are pleased that Mom got to work from home for 2 days this week. On the other paw, we are sad that she is hurt and gets a little testy when we want to sit on her feet (9 and Sheamus Popoki in particular)

Wondering what we are talking about? Well, here you go.

Here is what Mom's foot looked like Tuesday night.

You see, on Tuesday morning, Mom displayed her typical lack of grace (I mean seriously, humans are typically not graceful but Mom took the cake on this one). You see, as Mom left her car and crossed a road to get to her morning commuter train, she happened to NOT avoid a little pothole/divot in the road that she usually avoids. BOOM! Left ankle twisted, right knee scraped up.

She contemplated not going to work as she tried to rush out of the way of more commuters in their cars coming to the train station to park. But then decided that she would try to walk off the injury.

Usually, she can, but this time it was pretty bad and she spent most of the hour long train ride trying not to cry while taking deep breaths. Fortunately, she sort of napped (showing that she can learn something from us cats) and wasn't in too much pain on that ride. And then, she went to work, walked from the train station to the office (about a mile long walk). AND could not walk the injury off. Ouch ouch ouch...

Now, Mom is usually pretty smart, but this time, she displayed a remarkable lack of common sense. Silly Mom.

So, at night, Grandpa and Grandma came over and took Mom to the minor injury clinic. There, she got her foot x-rayed (no breaks or fractures, hooray!), her right knee cleaned up, her left ankle wrapped up and some new crutches

Here is a photo of how her ankle looked Wednesday night.
Lovely swollen toes with that swollen ankle, yes? You can see why she kept 'kicking' me off of her foot and the pillow on which her foot was propped.

And here is her foot last night. It looks a lot better!
Mom worked from home on Wednesday which made us happy. She went into the office yesterday but once again worked from home today. Thankfully, her art director let her work from home (the company is moving offices today so everyone is working for half a day in the office and half the day at home) and he didn't want her to waste time commuting and walking from the train station to the office for only half a day. This way, she can get a lot more work done. Oh, and Mom doesn't know the bus schedule or system plus she hates buses, so she would rather walk instead of take the bus to the office. AND she really dislikes crutches. They slow her down too much, she says. We know this is the point and that she needs the support, but Mom is stubborn.

Her ankle is much less swollen, but is a bit more achy today than it was before. Oh, and she can now see a bruise on the side of her foot.

At any rate, we are happy to have her home with us, and we are doing our best to help her heal. Wishing you all a happy and safe and healthy weekend!

Man Cat Monday

Ahem, it is I, 9. As the big brofur, I am entitled to start off this post. I am the man cat of the house, of course. You know, humans often take photos of themselves using a cellphone camera or desktop camera and end up with results like above. I'm pretty talented, aren't I? Hehehe... Even without opposable thumbs and relatively short arms, I got a very nice shot of myself.

Now, Mom took this photo of me. I still love to sit in boxes.

Oh, and here I am with my brofur, Sheamus Popoki. I really do love my brofur. He and I romp together and generally have a good time wrestling. I guess I shall let him talk a bit.

Zzzzzzzzzzz... Huh? Oh, I need to talk. But I am so sleepy! And I'm so comfy here on the couch that compliments my orange fur so well.  Zzzzzzzzzz...

Oh yes, I love to sleep with my brofur, 9. He grooms me and I groom him too. We're good that way. Zzzzzzzz...

Us again!

Remember how much I love boxes? I showed off my love again last week.

And here I am looking all handsome and adoring. The camera sure loves me, doesn't it?

And relaxing... it's been very hot here, so what else can one do but lounge about?

And Chani in the sun. Mom was hard pressed not to drop the camera instantly and snorgle her belly.

9 in boxes revisited

Remember when 9 could fit in one of these postal boxes? Ah, he was sooo tiny then!

Well, he's not so tiny anymore, but he still loves boxes.

Here he is looking up at Ceiling Cat from the comfort of box filled with papers. He loves to play with those papers late at night... sigh...

Sleepy time.

All curled up.
Being sweet and cuddly and begging me with his eyes to put the flashy box thing down and give him love

Tuesday Tidings

Does anyone see a problem in the above picture? Especially since it was around midnight? Yes, my darling, Chani, is thinking that our bed is actually HER bed...

No, not really. She was sleeping next to me and I got up to do something. She then decided it was the perfect time to stretch out and clean herself.

Unfortunately, Chani has fleas right now. The Frontline Plus only worked for about 2 weeks. She was fine when she visited my parents, but I think that we have fleas in the apartment. So, my poor girl has fleas. I combed her last night and was able to kill about 6 fleas. I know there is at least one more that I just could not catch. Chris has said that he will flea dip them this weekend. (I'm going to Los Angeles again.)

And I couldn't go three postings without putting a 9 solo picture up. Isn't he cute in this box? Yes, my boy really loves to play in boxes.

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope to have some interesting news by the end of the week.  Hehe, how's that for whetting one's appetite?
