Eeek! and Ugh!

This morning, I woke up and started my morning routine. The boys were wrestling. Chani was off to the side. And then, it was quiet. 9 was chirping.

I looked at my darling kitties and noticed they were all looking up at the ceiling rather intently... Make that very intently.

I did it. I looked up and saw:

I had to take a photo. I did zoom in on it to the maximum. But honestly, this spider was huge! Over an inch (2.54 cm) long... at least 2 inches (5 cm. No, this is not a fishy spider story). I went to my kitchen and grabbed a plastic cup. Plus, an envelope. I managed to reach up and scoop the spider into the cup. It wasn't too pleased with me, and tried to escape, but I did not allow it. I walked with cup and envelope over the top to my screen door to the patio, opened the door and tossed the spider out.

Now, up until the time I tossed the spider, I was feeling calm and normal. After tossing it, feeling the weight of the spider leaving the cup, I felt the heebie jeebies start. I looked at the cup to make sure the cup was empty... did not see where the spider landed which added to my creepy crawly feeling. Fortunately, the cup was empty. I quickly closed the door and breathed a sigh of relief.

I was not reassured by the fact that all 3 cats were still looking up at the ceiling. I think they were searching for the now departed spider, but still... eeeek! And ugh!

  1. Awwww - you should have let the kitties play with it! But yeah, my human would have taken it outside too.
