In which Chani makes her feelings known...

Ahem, Mom. We must have a talk. You see, I know that you put this lovely bunch of winter clothes on the bottom corner of the bed for me. They match my fur colors perfectly and they definitely needed me to rest upon them. However...

My darling brofur, 9, was lying here after I claimed it and moved off of the spot to attend you. Now, he is attempting to reclaim my spot. I did warn him off through hissing and growling. I also raised my paw as a warning.

Obviously, he did not listen and I moved out of the way because I just did not want to deal with him. There is just not enough space for the both of us. And then, the Orange Interloper joined him. It is a conspiracy of gender, I proclaim.

And no, I do not think they look sweet and adorable here. They are taking up MY spot.

Do fix this... oh, ok, I can say, "Please"...

Happy Chani

Chani is happiest when lying up on warm laundry. Or stinky laundry. Today, it was clean. And of course, it was my darkest pair of jeans that she was lying upon...

And she just loves to refur everything.

Unfortunately, I had to put those clothes away. Chani wasn't too pleased with that. However, I then decided to make the bed and pulled out fresh sheets.

 That made her happy again.

Very happy. And yes, I gave her a few belly rubs too.

Sheamus Popoki muses

Is someone watching me? Stalking me? Sneaking up on me from behind...

Hmmm... doesn't look like it.

Good. I can just relax here then.

9 in a box

My blue eyed boy still loves boxes. I usually keep a few of the empty Amazon boxes around for him. It might be time to recycle this one and get him a fresh one hehe

Eeek! and Ugh!

This morning, I woke up and started my morning routine. The boys were wrestling. Chani was off to the side. And then, it was quiet. 9 was chirping.

I looked at my darling kitties and noticed they were all looking up at the ceiling rather intently... Make that very intently.

I did it. I looked up and saw:

I had to take a photo. I did zoom in on it to the maximum. But honestly, this spider was huge! Over an inch (2.54 cm) long... at least 2 inches (5 cm. No, this is not a fishy spider story). I went to my kitchen and grabbed a plastic cup. Plus, an envelope. I managed to reach up and scoop the spider into the cup. It wasn't too pleased with me, and tried to escape, but I did not allow it. I walked with cup and envelope over the top to my screen door to the patio, opened the door and tossed the spider out.

Now, up until the time I tossed the spider, I was feeling calm and normal. After tossing it, feeling the weight of the spider leaving the cup, I felt the heebie jeebies start. I looked at the cup to make sure the cup was empty... did not see where the spider landed which added to my creepy crawly feeling. Fortunately, the cup was empty. I quickly closed the door and breathed a sigh of relief.

I was not reassured by the fact that all 3 cats were still looking up at the ceiling. I think they were searching for the now departed spider, but still... eeeek! And ugh!

Portraits on a Tuesday

The long weekend allowed for some excellent portrait taking opportunities. I, 9, made sure to put on my best contemplative face for the camera.

Chani did her best with a slightly winsome, secretive grin whilst gazing off into the distance.

Sheamus Popoki went with the focused stare.
