Tockstober

Happy Tockstober everyone! Above you see 9's glorious tocks. It's so amazing to see his coat and the contrast in it. When he first came to me, his coat had that brilliant white, but his back/spine area and his little heart shaped target on his side were definitely more taupe than dark brown.

And here is darling Chani. Some how my camera phone loves her a lot. I have been getting such lovely photos of her lately. Her coat is also pretty in its color and depth. Love, love, love her orangey bits. And looking back at her kitten pictures. Her coat has definitely darkened up too. Ah, what a doll she was and is!

And her white socks remind me of Q. I remember not being sure about adopting her when I first met Chani. 9 definitely got a hold on me by licking my arm as soon as I held him. Chani was a bit more standoffish (and she did have an accident in my bed the first morning after I adopted her). But, I am so happy that she is in my life. She's my cuddle bug (when it suits her) delicate Princess Diva kitty.

(By the way, Chani's colors match our local baseball team. Go SF Giants!!! hahaha... no offense to Texas Rangers fans, but we gotta support our boys in orange and black!)

Happy Halloween 2010

Greetings, fellow Kitties of blog land. It is I, Chani. Mom got a bee in her bonnet today and decided to dress me up. I was a perfect model as you can see above.

Am I not just adorable in this photo? I am feel so prim and proper in my pink ruffled dress (at least that's what Mom says I should feel). By the way, this is a different pink ruffled dress than the one Mom put me in last year. I out grew that dress.

A close up shot of me.

Hello, everyone. 9 here. I am not as good a model as Chani, but Mom got a few photos of me.

She's waving a stick with a bell at the end of it to get my attention. But, I was way too distracted by the shirt to really pose well.

Nom nom nom... I really do not like wearing clothes though Mom says I'm getting better about it.

This is the only photo Mom could get of the two of us in one shot. When we have to wear costumes, Chani and I refuse to share the frame!

Well, at least we got a lot of Greenies for this!

Happy Halloween everyone!

Guess who is 2 years old???

9: Ooh Ooh Ooh!!! I know the answer to that! Me!!!

Although, Mom's not entirely sure when my exact birthday is, she knew I was born in October sometime and decided to give me the same birthday as Q who came before (and Mom's Uncle and her dear friend).

So, happy 2nd birthday to me!!!

Do I get some extra wet food or treats today? I hope so :D

Q as a baby

A few weeks ago, a friend asked me to do a video montage for her. Unfortunately, all her photos were photos... not on disc. So, I had to buy a scanner to do this project. I had already planned on buying a scanner one day, but never got around to it.

So, I've just hooked up my new Epson scanner and decided to christen it by scanning a photo of my beloved Q. When Q came into my life (from a pet store in 1991 or 1992... terrible that I can't remember, this was before I knew about adopting and such), he was about 5 weeks old. Tiny and adorable. He got a little sick when I first brought him home, but he recovered quickly and became the first love of my life. Here he is making himself comfortable on my father's alarm clock. He was such a wee thing back then!

Many years later, I took a photo of Q when he was an adult sitting atop my alarm clock, but I've managed to lose that photo. If I ever find that photo, then I'll scan it and post it.

I have so many photos of Q and his best bud, Sylvester to scan and post! Part of me can't wait to share this with you. Part of me is getting teary eyed thinking about it (not just my eyes mind you). But it will be a good journey.

Relaxing on Tuesday

Is that the sound on miniature humans??? No. Phew! I was worried for a sec.

But now, we're relaxed and happy. It's just us and mom. Time to cuddle, get comforting hugs and just purrrrrrr...

Truly, when I took that photo of 9, it was just us and he was playing around. I think his markings always make him look serious, soulful, brooding and mildly depressed. He really is quite comfortable and happy, but it's hard to tell. AND to me, he kind of looks guilty in the above photo. I'm not sure what he has to be guilty about aside from perhaps leaving a wet present that I can't find but can smell in the living room. Still, only Chani has ever had issues not using the litter box (and only on the first morning after I adopted her).

Thursday portraits

9 is my handsome, sensitive boy. It's all in his eyes.

Chani is my fierce yet loving girl. She can be snuggable, but best snuggles come when it's on her terms.

9 is upset

Dear Mom,

I know that you were quite put out at 6:30 am Sunday morning when I kept hopping from the headboard to the bookshelf and making a lot of noise. And to top it all off, I stepped on the remote and turned the bright ceiling light on. But...

Did you have to let those noisy, shrieking miniature humans into our home? Seriously, I had no place to go but up this tower and glare at them while they played with Chani's and my toys!

I am seriously upset by this.

Love,
9

My good friend brought over 3 of her children. The oldest was good and the one who wanted to see 9 and Chani the most. However, the younger two were just too excited to see two kitties. They have one at home but their kitty is about 15 years old and doesn't really want to play that much. Poor 9 just sat up the tower and hissed at one of the younger ones as she approached him. She was smart enough to turn around and leave him be. Chani looked on and dashed in and out of the living room.

And the worst part is that another little human will be visiting for the next two nights...
